Karama Yemen Human Rights Film Festival Concludes

YWT Org has held Karama Yemen human rights films festival in its first edition, the first festival of its kind in Yemen, in Taiz and Aden cities between 1/ April to 9/April for four days.

 

 

The festival this year was under the title of "Bring It To Light". It has highlight several issues related to women and children rights and the effects of war on them, the suffering of the displaced people, education, democracy, fighting corruption, peace, and coexistence, ect.. 

 

 

Through screening numbers of 37 films between fiction, documentary, and animation a collection of local, regional and international films, in order to raise the awareness of society especially the youth to find solutions for the problems and the obstacles that prevent the existence of a safe human rights environment in Yemen.

 

 

The festival lasts for four days and includes several activities such as films screening and directors and audience interactive discussions.

 

 

 

 The festival this year was in cooperation with Ma3mal612 Think Factory-المعمل612 للافكار-Karama Film Festival Jordan and ANHAR NetworkSupported by Movies that Matter,  and National Endowment for Democracy.
